Regrettably its very rarely that i pick up a book and become completely and utterly obsessed with a fantastical world so I was greeted with a very pleasant surprise when i delved into the pages of 1984.
Fraught with the concept of an intense patriarchal society, Orwell explores the ideology of Big Brother in a scarily relatable and colorful style. Both politically intricate and gracefully written, Orwell invites you to get thoroughly encased within his language while inadvertently hurling one into a perpetual state of questioning life as we know it.
It was on the shores of a small croatian island, that I, in a rather surreal state yet to be incorrupt by Orwell, delved into this masterpiece and fell utterly and completely in love. I contently and rather paradoxically lulled into a confusion of understanding and obsessing over the book, finished it in a week. Its a perplexing feeling to be floating in the Adriatic sea having been challenged so thoroughly yet pleasantly and to that I owe Orwell thanks.

1984 is a story of political injustice, forbidden love, inner rebellion and conflictual purpose, that awakens the reader into a realm of possibility into the political notion of our earth, the validity of our feelings and the blurred lines between truth and lies.
